Divestment Victory! Ritu Khanna Now Has No Investments in Weapons Companies

Ask Ritu Khanna, Congressman Ro Khanna's wife, to divest from the war machine! - CODEPINK - Women for Peace

In January 2020, a report from Sludge, reported that  Ritu Khanna, Congressman Ro Khanna’s wife, owned stocks in Boeing, Honeywell, Huntington Ingalls, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Northrop Grumman, and United Technologies.

Thanks to the energy, engagement, and enthusiasm of 2,000 CODEPINK members, Ritu Khanna, business woman and wife of Congressman Ro Khanna, now has no investments in weapons manufacturers!

This victory goes to show that when we remind our allies that there are better alternatives to making a killing on killing, they listen!

Let’s keep this momentum going. At CODEPINK, we have made divesting from war and investing in life-affirming alternatives simple. In partnership with As You Sow, the nation’s non-profit leader in shareholder advocacy, we have created a Weapons Free Fund Database which allows you to easily search for socially responsible funds by name and align your investment with your own values. The Divest from the War Machine Campaign also aims to encourage Philanthropic Foundations to examine their assets under management and to divest from the weapons and arms industry. You can visit our website here to find the tools and resources to tell philanthropic foundations in your community to stop making a killing on killing!

The national CodePink organization organizes for justice for Iraqis and to hold war criminals accountable. CodePink actively opposes the U.S. war in Afghanistan, torture, the detention center at Guantanamo, weaponized and spy drones, the prosecution of whistleblowers, U.S. support for the Israeli occupation of Palestine and repressive regimes.

Rooted in a network of local organizers, CodePink's tactics include satire, street theatre, creative visuals, civil resistance, and directly challenging powerful decision-makers in government and corporations. And, of course, wearing pink!
