PLEASE JOIN US TO PROTEST FLEET WEEK!
Last year during S.F. Fleet Week 2018, when the Blue Angels were flying over our bay, making loud, frightening noises and terrorizing the local animals while doing their daredevil acrobatic air displays, we sailed the bay with 3 beautiful boats decorated with messages of PEACE & NONVIOLENCE!
Help us DE-GLAMORIZE WAR, and show how beautiful PEACE is!  Be an advocate for peace, and a counter presence to the glorification of war and militarism.

Won’t you join us?  We need your help to make it successful:
San Francisco’s Embarcadero – Fisherman’s Wharf area
< Boats off shore with Peace Banners
< Us on shore handing out Flyers

WE’LL ALSO HAVE AT LEAST 3 “PEACE FLEET” BOATS ON THE BAY, DECKED OUT WITH BANNERS, etc.
1. Current boats are pretty full, so you will be put on a wait list, in case more boats join us.
Please contact Toby to reserve a spot on one of the boats. First come, first served.
You will hear back from Toby on Friday, Oct. 11 to confirm a seat.

2.   We need more boats, kayaks and other water vehicles.  Do you know a sympathetic boat owner, or kayaker, who might be interested in joining our Peace Flotilla?
Please help connect us asap:  ratherbenyckeling@comcast.net

3. Want to participate but you get sea sick on boats?   We need land crew to distribute educational flyers to all the masses of onlookers who are being fooled to believe that blue angels really are angels.  We say “Real Angels Don’t Drop Bombs.”
MEET AT THE ENTRANCE TO PIER 39 AT 11:30 AM ON SUNDAY the 13th TO GET FLYERS TO HAND OUT
< CONTACT PERSON FRED BIALY – CodePINK Men’s Auxiliary

-planning and preparing for the event
-media outreach
-brainstorming ideas to recruit more boats, and reaching out to boat owners and boating organizations.
-sharing other ideas, etc.
-composing leaflet and printing it

Please join Bay Area CODEPINK-Women for Peace and Bay Area Veterans For Peace. AS THE “BLUE ANGELS” SCREAM OVERHEAD, WE’LL PASS OUT TO THE CROWDS OF THOUSANDS LEAFLETS SAYING:
“Angels Don’t Bomb!” …. plus lots of info on Drones, the anti-war work of the 2 orgs and webs to check out (alternatives to the military, etc.)
We’ll also have a counter-recruitment flyer to hand out to young people.
THERE IS NO GLORY IN WAR!
Peace & Love and ZERO tolerance to war!

Big Thanks to Nadya, our liaison between Veterans For Peaceh and CODEPINK!!

The national CodePink organization organizes for justice for Iraqis and to hold war criminals accountable. CodePink actively opposes the U.S. war in Afghanistan, torture, the detention center at Guantanamo, weaponized and spy drones, the prosecution of whistleblowers, U.S. support for the Israeli occupation of Palestine and repressive regimes.

Rooted in a network of local organizers, CodePink's tactics include satire, street theatre, creative visuals, civil resistance, and directly challenging powerful decision-makers in government and corporations. And, of course, wearing pink!
