On Tuesday, July 27, join us for a lively conversation assessing opportunities and challenges facing the Congressional Progressive Caucus. We’ll talk about immigration, Medicare for All, dirty money, war and peace, and new rules for the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal was elected to the House in 2016, and is now serving her third term representing Washington’s 7th District, which encompasses most of Seattle. Congresswoman Jayapal is a member of the House Judiciary Committee, where she serves as vice-chair of the Subcommittee on Antitrust, Commercial, and Administrative Law. She is also the chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, which represents approximately 40% of the entire Democratic caucus.

From our National Site

The national CodePink organization organizes for justice for Iraqis and to hold war criminals accountable. CodePink actively opposes the U.S. war in Afghanistan, torture, the detention center at Guantanamo, weaponized and spy drones, the prosecution of whistleblowers, U.S. support for the Israeli occupation of Palestine and repressive regimes.

Rooted in a network of local organizers, CodePink's tactics include satire, street theatre, creative visuals, civil resistance, and directly challenging powerful decision-makers in government and corporations. And, of course, wearing pink!
