Codepink Golden Gate invites environmental and social justice movement accomplices to join in Codepink’s campaign opposing the $54 Billion increase in military spending by visiting a company that builds weapons for  the military — to tell and show them how to GO GREEN! The military remains the greatest consumer of petroleum in the United States and the largest polluter on the planet! Military and climate wars are destroying lives, the environment and threatening the planet. Our environmental and human needs are desperate and urgent. We need to transform our economy, our politics, our policies and our priorities to reflect that reality. That means reversing the flow of our tax dollars, away from war and militarism, and towards funding human and environmental needs, and demanding support for that reversal from all our political leaders at the local, state and national levels and telling military defense contractors to GO GREEN! This company we are going to visit manufactures drones and other war machines that cause the deaths of hundreds of innocent civilians as “collateral damage.

This action is being hosted by the Codepink Golden Gate Ruckus Team. We will also discuss   Codepink’s #No54BillionforWar” Campaign to get a resolution passed in your city or with your mayor opposing the $54 billion increase in military spending. click for more info here: http://www.codepink.org/no54billionforwar

From our National Site

The national CodePink organization organizes for justice for Iraqis and to hold war criminals accountable. CodePink actively opposes the U.S. war in Afghanistan, torture, the detention center at Guantanamo, weaponized and spy drones, the prosecution of whistleblowers, U.S. support for the Israeli occupation of Palestine and repressive regimes.

Rooted in a network of local organizers, CodePink's tactics include satire, street theatre, creative visuals, civil resistance, and directly challenging powerful decision-makers in government and corporations. And, of course, wearing pink!
