Travis Air Force Base: STOP BOMBING AFGHANISTAN!
Note: Some folks have been wondering about the message, “STOP BOMBING AFGHANISTAN”…
There’s much to say here, but that’s what the purposely vague “Over the horizon” U.S. campaign is all about….continuing to bomb the hell out of one of the poorest countries on earth, but from bases surrounding it…..to get those “terrorists.” (More to come on this)
For Friday: WE HAVE LOTS OF BANNERS……WE NEED PEOPLE TO HELP Hold banners on the overpass over Air Base Parkway….where thousands enter the base everyday…..as well as holding banners at the entrance gate. Please join us!
WHEN: Friday, August 20, 6:00 am to 8:00 am
WHAT: Rally/Demo at entrance to Travis AFB, Fairfield, Large banners, signs. Leaflets will be distributed.
WHERE: End of Air Base Parkway, near base entrance gate. (Take Air Base Parkway Exit, south side of I-80, in Fairfield)
-Thousands of cars enter Travis AFB every day! This is a major military transport base.
-CARPOOLING being organized: contact Toby: email@example.com
-We have a committed group of 6+ people. We would love to have even more join us.
-Some of us may do an afternoon vigil at Beale DRONE AFB in Marysvile, if there is interest? Please let me know if you are interested! RSVP: firstname.lastname@example.org
Some of the Banners/Signs to include: (We need many more people so we can have a BIG Visual Display to support the people of Afghanistan)
-STOP THE DRONING OF AFGHANISTAN, 20 YEARS ENOUGH!
-REPARATIONS NOT BOMBS
-TIRED OF ENDLESS WARS? RESIST, DISARM, REFUSE
-PEACE WITH AFGHANISTAN!
This is a response to a call by a newly formed Ban Killer Drone organization, an anti-drone network, asking people to hold rallys/vigils at Drone and non-drone military installations on or near Friday, August 20th. (see attached statement)
PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION, on the BanKillerDrone.org website to join the growing effort to ban militarized drones worldwide, at home and abroad.
The people of Afghanistan are in a dire situation with the increased US bombing and Droning (secret “over the horizon” bombing) along with the new Biden administration efforts to return 6,000 more boots on the ground, piled onto the violence that may continue as the Taliban takeover is complete. In addition, there are 10-20,000 CIA & special forces operatives with boots on the ground now!! The US must totally withdraw from Afghanistan. No new boots on the ground! ALL TROOPS, contractors, CIA operatives and Special Forces HOME! The U.S. must stop the bombing and droning of the Afghan people!
Having spent more than $2.26 trillion dollars on the Afghanistan intervention already, the US has produced nothing but suffering and ecological destruction in the 20 years of its military presence. Although the situation in Afghanistan is rapidly changing, we can say without hesitation that…..Enough is enough!
Please join us in saying, U.S. Hands off Afghanistan! Stop the Bombing!

“Stop Bombing Afghanistan” – Statement for the Media
August 15, 2021
Ban Killer Drones, an organization of activists in the U.S. and overseas opposing the use of militarized drones, calls on the US government to immediately cease bombing Afghanistan to ensure the most peaceful transition in Afghanistan possible.
The US bombing campaign over the last several weeks has been enabled by the use of killer drones for direct attack and for guiding bombing by manned aircraft in what has been termed by the Biden Administration “over the horizon” air assault to shore up the now evaporated Afghan government.
These air attacks, which might never have been undertaken had drones not existed, have clearly increased the suffering of the Afghan people and made the evacuation of civilians and a peaceful change of government much more difficult.
This latest use of drones comes after years of U.S. drone slaughter and terrorization in Afghanistan. According to the Bureau of Investigative Journalism, as many as 10,000 Afghans may have been killed by U.S. drones since 2004, more people by far than killed by U.S. drones in any other country.
Whatever protection the United States and its allies can offer the people of Afghanistan in light of the imminent take-over of their country by the Taliban, negotiations – not bombing – offers the only hope for minimizing suffering.
Ban Killer Drones is organizing, and encouraging others to organize, protests against further U.S. air attacks against Afghanistan at U.S. drone control centers and other military facilities on, or about, Friday, August 20, 2021.
The people of Afghanistan suffered for too long from U.S. assault. It must stop now.
For more information on the indiscriminate harm to civilian populations caused by drone attacks, see the “Dangers” section of BanKillerDrones.org.
