National Week of Action for Yemen: Rapid Action Call – California

When:
June 22, 2022 @ 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
2022-06-22T18:00:00-07:00
2022-06-22T19:00:00-07:00

Join national organizers and activists across your state to demand a Yemen War Powers Resolution to end all forms of US support for the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen.

On this 30-minute rapid action call, you will be quickly briefed on Yemen and current legislation to end US support for the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen, which is responsible for mass human rights violations in the midst of a humanitarian crisis. At the end of the call, we will take action together with activists across the state, calling on our Representatives to cosponsor the Yemen War Powers Resolution, which would end all forms of US support for the coalition, including providing spare parts, maintenance, and logistical support for Saudi warplanes. Join us as we work to end US complicity in the world’s worst humanitarian crisis, alleviate suffering for Yemeni families, and get us on the path to peace.

From our National Site

The national CodePink organization organizes for justice for Iraqis and to hold war criminals accountable. CodePink actively opposes the U.S. war in Afghanistan, torture, the detention center at Guantanamo, weaponized and spy drones, the prosecution of whistleblowers, U.S. support for the Israeli occupation of Palestine and repressive regimes.

Rooted in a network of local organizers, CodePink's tactics include satire, street theatre, creative visuals, civil resistance, and directly challenging powerful decision-makers in government and corporations. And, of course, wearing pink!
