November 8, 2021 @ 1:15 PM – 2:15 PM

In-Person COP26 People’s Summit Workshop: Challenging the Military Carbon Bootprint

The world’s militaries are major carbon emitters yet are not even required to report their emissions, let alone reduce them. This workshop will discuss the size of military carbon emissions, the role of the military sector in protecting the extraction economy, how they seek to capitalize on the climate crisis by offering armed ‘solutions’, and how we might confront military power and forge lasting just alternatives to war.

Organized by: Arms, militarism & climate justice working group

Check in with us on the ground in Glasgow to hear about who will be speaking!
